Power Vent Operation

Power vent tanks are similar in construction to natural draft tanks with one major difference. Power vented hot water tanks also include a fan that pushes the combustion gases out of the exhaust venting. Because no chimney is required, power vented tanks are compatible with today’s high efficiency furnaces that are sidewall vented. All power vented tanks feature electronic ignition that improves energy efficiency. Besides being Energy Star® rated, you will also enjoy the benefit of no chance for back drafting or leakage of combustion gases. This efficient design is an excellent choice for retrofitting a new tank where no chimney exists or when the cost of chimney lining would be uneconomical.
